Al Habtoor Group Chairman Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor announced today that through his Foundation he will fund Umrah for the families and children of the UAE martyrs who sacrificed their lives for their country in Yemen. Al Habtoor said he will pay for Umrah flights and accommodation over the spring holiday for affected families.

Al Habtoor added that this will be one of three humanitarian initiatives for the martyrs which will come through his Foundation, the Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor Foundation (KAHF). The other initiatives will be revealed at a later date.

Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor said, "This is a terrible loss for our country. I am proud of the sacrifice that our noble martyrs made for their homeland. May their souls, through the mercy of God, rest in peace."

He added: "It is our duty to give back to the families and children of the martyrs as the Prophet (PBUH) said: ‘whosoever equipped a fighter in the path of Allah, and the one who looked after a fighter's family behind, verily he participated in Jihad’.''

Applications for registration can be submitted to Abdul Salam Al Marzooqi, General Manager of KAHF, at the Foundation's headquarters in Dubai.
