Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor today welcomed His Excellency Roman Golovchenko, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the United Arab Emirates. The meeting took place at the Al Habtoor Group head office on Al Wasl Road on Thursday May 15, 2014. Also present was Maan Halabi, Executive Director of the Group and Mohammed Al Mazrooei, Managing Director.
The meeting was centered on the investment arena in the Republic of Belarus. His Excellency asked Al Habtoor for his advice to attract more investors to the country. The Ambassador said he wants to deepen relations with the Belarusian and Emirati business community and build on the positive steps that had already been taken.
The Al Habtoor Group Chairman recommended a more transparent system that encourages foreign investors to the country. He advised creating a business friendly environment to draw in investors from the UAE and further afield.
Al Habtoor, who visited Belarus in 2012 on invitation from the Prime Minister of Belarus Mikhail Myasnikovich, said, “Belarus has many opportunities, it is a beautiful country with very friendly people.”
Roman Golovchenko, who took up his post last May, has occupied various positions between 1996 and 2008 in the state secretariat of the security council of Belarus focusing on international security and foreign policy.
