Timely donation to support UAE's countrywide efforts to stop spread of COVID-19

Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor, Emirati businessman and Founding Chairman of Al Habtoor Group (AHG), has donated 50 state-of-the-art and fully equipped ambulances to the Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services (DCAS), as part of his charitable and community contributions to assist the UAE in fighting the COVID-19 outbreak.

The renowned entrepreneur's timely donation is set to support the UAE's countrywide efforts to stop the spread of coronavirus and aid in the stringent health measures being carried out to mitigate the chances of infection. The government is strictly adhering to the recommended steps by World Health Organisation (WHO), in its disease control and prevention efforts.

Setting an example for fellow Emiratis to come to their nation's aid in this time of crisis, Al Habtoor's initiative stands for solidarity and supports all the government's initiatives aimed at ensuring the safety and well-being of society.

Al Habtoor said: "The true sense of solidarity and compassion among the UAE people is evident in these times. We are always ready to stand by our leaders in order to make our country an outstanding model of the highest standards of security, healthcare and safety for all those who live in this good land." The visionary doyen emphasised that these hard times would not undermine the determination of UAE citizens in bringing this pandemic to an end.

Al Habtoor added: “I hope these initiatives will assist the UAE health authorities in their measures to ensure the health and recovery of UAE's citizens and residents. May this ordeal end soon, and may we emerge from it stronger and determined."

His Excellency Khalifa Hassan Al Darrai, CEO of DCAS, said that the UAE is blessed with national figures of a humanitarian bent, who diligently fulfilled their responsibilities and duties towards society. With such support and solidarity from citizens, he added that the UAE would soon be able to overcome these challenges times.

Earlier in March, Al Habtoor allocated a fully equipped building for quarantine purposes to the UAE health authorities and committed to building a specialised research facility for virus and epidemic studies.
