Khalaf Al Habtoor meets with His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jaber Al Thani

Invited personally by the prime minister of the country to a business meeting, Mr Khalaf Al Habtoor paid brief visit to fellow GCC country Qatar.

Mr Khalaf Al Habtoor, chairman of Al Habtoor Group, exited the country for a mere 6 hours, to take a trip from Dubai to Doha, Qatar’s capital to meet with His Highness Sheikh Hamad Bin Jassim Bin Jaber Al Thani, prime minister of Qatar and its minister of foreign affairs.

His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jaber Al Thani, who was appointed prime minister in 2007, while continuing to serve in the post of minister of foreign affairs which he occupies since 1992, invited Mr. Al Habtoor to Qatar to discuss business opportunities for Al Habtoor Group.

Mr. Al Habtoor, who was accompanied during this trip by Mr. Sultan Al Habtoor, his brother President of Al Habtoor Motors, Mr. Rashid Al Habtoor his eldest son, Mr. Mohammed Al Habtoor CEO of Al Habtoor Group and Mr. Mohammed Al Mazrooei, directors of operations of Al Habtoor Group, had only positive comments after the convention: “Our meeting with His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jaber Al Thani was very positive and I am very confident! We discussed more business opportunities for us in Qatar as Al Habtoor Group!”

The Al Habtoor Group celebrates this year its 40th anniversary, subsequently to the establishment of Al Habtoor Engineering in 1970. Al Habtoor Leighton Group, the successful merger of the preceding with the Australian Leighton formed in 2007, is now building in Doha the Dubai Tower, one of many projects for the company in the Qatari capital. The $238 million tower will rise to 440 meters and feature 88 floors of luxury residential, retail, commercial, corporate spaces as well as a 5-star hotel. The Dubai tower’s unique architecture and high end interior design will correctly position it as an icon in the region.
